There are lovely plazas to explore, with statues and fountains of Chilean hero’s, which you can find out about in the museums. Valparaiso is also the inspiration for the Chilean Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda, and there is a museum dedicated to his work.

SURROUNDED BY
The hostel is located in the Cerro Alegre, behind the Sotomayor plaza. It is easy to get to by taxi-buses from the bus terminal, you have to take any bus that goes to (Aduana). It is less than 300 metres to the port, with beautiful views and an artisan market and only a few blocks walk to supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.
Valparaíso is surrounded by 45 hills, if you cannot face the walk up to see the spectacular views around the city, you can take one of the old censor’s which have been running for a century.
The night life here is a lively, with a mix of discotheques, bars and pubs playing Latino, pop and rock music (and only a 2 blocks is the night life). The local delicacy without a doubt is marisco, the fresh sea food.
